Pierre, SD – Foundation Repair & Crawlspace Stabilization
When Mary and Paul Titze of Pierre, South Dakota noticed their north foundation wall beginning to crumble and bow inward, they knew it was time to have their home evaluated. In addition to the wall concerns, they had also noticed some settling occurring in the front crawlspace area of their home.
Paul is retired and Mary is planning to retire this summer. With plans to stay in their home for many years to come — and plenty of time spent with their grandchildren right here in Pierre — making sure their home was structurally sound and protected for the future was very important to them.
After a full inspection, we designed a solution to address both the structural concerns and the moisture issues affecting the home.
To stabilize the settling areas, helical piers were installed to permanently support the foundation and prevent further settlement. To repair and reinforce the bowing foundation walls, our team installed the EverBrace Wall Restoration System, restoring structural strength to both the north and south walls.
To keep the basement dry moving forward, we also installed a WaterGuard® interior drainage system paired with a SuperSump® pump system to efficiently manage groundwater and protect the home from future water intrusion.
In the crawlspace, we completed a full encapsulation system and installed SmartJack® supports beneath the west crawlspace area to stabilize and properly support the floor system above.
Finally, we improved the exterior appearance and protection of the basement windows by installing two SunHouse™ window well enclosures, replacing the previous uncovered wells and creating a cleaner, more finished look.
With these solutions in place, Mary and Paul can now enjoy peace of mind knowing their home is structurally stable, protected from water issues, and ready for many more years of family memories.
