Madison Central Schools Improves Safety with Concrete Leveling in Madison, SD

Madison Central Schools in Madison, SD, wanted to address several uneven concrete areas near the school before they became a bigger safety concern. After seeing a Blackburn Foundation Repair commercial, the school reached out to our team for help fixing trip hazards located near a handicap entrance and a side entrance of the building.

For the school, the main concern was safety and liability. Uneven concrete around busy school entrances can create a serious risk for students, staff, visitors, and anyone using the handicap-accessible entrance. They wanted a dependable solution that would improve safety while also helping protect the concrete from future damage.

Dillon’s crew completed the project using PolyLevel® to fill voids beneath the concrete and lift the uneven areas. The project covered a 3,900-square-foot footprint and included two main lift areas. The rest of the concrete received three-part protection, including sealing to help defend against water intrusion. The crew also addressed areas with significant spalling and worked carefully around the front of the building, near the fire lane and parking areas.

By lifting the settled concrete, filling the voids underneath, and sealing the joints, Blackburn helped Madison Central Schools reduce trip hazards and add long-term protection to their concrete surfaces.

Now, the school has safer entrances and better-protected concrete for students, staff, and visitors.
